Who Are We?

CEF of Cobb is a local chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Child Evangelism Fellowship was founded in 1937 and is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God and establish them in a Bible believing church for Christian living. CEF has missionaries in all 50 states and in 192 countries around the world.

 

Our Mission

CEF of Cobb’s mission is to share the Good News of the Gospel with children in our community, grow them into disciples of Jesus, and equip them to change their world.

We do this through Good News Clubs in public schools, 5-Day Clubs in the summer, and training Christians with effective ministry tools.

 

Why Children?

First and foremost, we believe that God clearly values and loves children; therefore, we value and love children. Second, we believe that children's greatest need is to have a relationship with God; therefore, we must share the gospel with them and help them grow to become disciples of Jesus. Lastly, we believe that children truly are our future. In order to change the trajectory of our community, our nation, and the world, it is critical that we reach the children and help them become leaders who will go out and make an impact in the world and for the kingdom.

Some statistics for why it is critical to reach children:

• Studies by George Barna show that more than 75 percent of those who receive Christ do so before the age of 21 - the majority of those before the age of 13.

• By the age of 13 most people's worldview is formed.

One of our greatest desires and goals is to grow this ministry in order to reach and impact more children with the Gospel. However, we cannot do so without you.
